Have a backwards compatible PS3 they wanna sell?

Kinja'd!!!

I’m in need of a new one since the guy who was supposed to fix mine lost it upon arrival........

Update:

After talking with the wife this weekend, we’ve decided to just buy a PS3 and a PS2. We have the space with our new TV stand and I can buy both for less than a decent BC PS3 would cost, so it seems a more sensible route.

Thanks to all who had something to offer!

Sorry,

I would bet if you listed it, it would be gone in a hurry. People are going crazy for them right now.

Dug mine out and dusted it off for no reason.  Curse you.  I guess I’ll have to finish that ZoE HD game after all...

Here’s another option to consider. PS2 emulation is actually really good these days and  PCSX2 even supports playing your existing disks. Link a PS3 or PS4 controller to a PC over Bluetooth and you can enjoy your old PS2 games at increased resolutions (and frame rates for games where the physics/sound isn't tied to the frame rate) from the cableless comfort of your couch. These days your average laptop is plenty capable of getting you an enjoyable emulation experience for PS2 and older systems.

Some games can take a bit of fiddling (though there is a wiki which includes settings for just about every game) compared to playing on original hardware but you generally can get better performance than you could ever get back in the day.

PS2s are cheap and BC PS3s are old, expensive and likely to break. I think you’re best with a PS3 and PS2 :)

I had an early PS3 which shit itself, I now have a beat up slim one. Cheap, fine.

Arent the BC ps3s like the most unreliable things? You are probably better off with the two separate consoles, I recommend a super slim PS3 and a slim ps2, both top loaders and the smallest models

That’s the plan.

And yes, the BC PS3s were terrible for reliability, but from what I’ve gathered they can be re-soldered which solves almost all the issues.

We went through like 2 BC PS3s and now have 2 of the newer non-super-slim ones. I think we have a silver PS2 slim too, gotta go look again to be sure. We also have an original Playstation as well.
